How do I check-in online with Ryanair?

I am going away for more than four days, how will I check-in for my return flight?

As Ryanair changed their online check-in policy on November 2016, limiting passengers to a reduced check in window of only 4 days to 2 hours ahead of departure making it very difficult for those passengers who have planned to go away for longer than 4 days. I am worried I may forget to check-in online, can I set a reminder?

Ryanair’s online check-in deadline currently allows you to check-in from 4 days and up to Two hours before your flight or 30 days prior up to 2 hours before departure if you have paid for designated seating. Airport check-in fee is £45pp and £15 for a boarding pass. I have lost my boarding pass, what can I do?

Once a passenger has been checked-in online, the boarding pass may be reprinted up to two hours before the scheduled flight time; this can be done by the passenger free of charge using the ‘manage my booking’ option. Do be sure to do this correctly and ensure that your boarding card is printed to a high standard, as any boarding passes that do not scan at the airport due to the lack of clarity will be subjected to a reissue fee, which is currently £15pp, per flight. If you need to reissue your boarding pass before your departure date, you will have to call Ryanair’s priority assistance line at a premium rate charge. Alternatively Check-in Pal can replace or reissue your boarding pass from only £2.99 per person, per boarding pass, including a free call back service. If you are short of time or require your boarding pass urgently, you can even request a priority or emergency call back for an additional fee.

Can I change my booking after I have already checked-in online?

Where bookings need to be changed and you have already checked-in online, Ryanair require you to contact their reservations centre to pay a £15pp/one way uncheck fee. This then allows the customer to make changes via ‘manage my booking’, or alternatively speak to Check-in Pal, and allow us to amend your booking for you cheaper than you could with Ryanair over the phone. (Remember if you have already checked in you need to get your booking unchecked by Ryanair before we can offer support)

Can I change my flight date, route or name on my booking?

This can be done via 'manage my booking' on Ryanair's website direct or let Check-in pal do this on your behalf for a small fee ranging beween £1.99pp-£8.99pp one way subject to seat availability, flight dates and times are changeable, so are name changes. Such changes can be made up to four hours prior to flight departure. However if you have already checked-in online, you are required to contact Ryanair’s reservation centre directly to make such a change (which is subject to Ryanair’s £15 per flight, per person uncheck fee). Once the flight’s have been unchecked, Check-in Pal is able to make your flight date, route or name amendment. Where a name change is required this must be for the individual’s complete flight itinerary.

How much will a name change cost and how can this be done?

A name change is charged per person per booking. This can be done up to four hours prior to scheduled flight departure. Fees to consider from Ryanair are as follows:

  • £15 per person, per flight uncheck fee (if already checked in online) which must be done through Ryanair directly.
  • Name change with Ryanair online is currently £110 per person, per flight or £160 over the phone or at the airport per person, per flight.
  • Check-in Pal can complete a name change for you for Ryanair’s smallest fee of £110 per person, per flight plus an additional £8.99 per person, per flight, including all the relevant documents that you will require, saving you money on Ryanair’s inflated airport / over the phone fee.

What is a flight uncheck fee?

Ryanair charges a fee of £15pp per flight where customers have already checked in online and require an amendment to their booking, such as a name, flight or date change. This can only be done via Ryanair direct on 0871246000. Check-in Pal can then deal with all your desired amendments to your booking once your uncheck has been completed.

What is Ryanair's cabin baggage, hand luggage weight allowance and restrictions?

Cabin baggage / hand luggage,baggage allowance, weight and dimensions.

  • Strictly two items per person i.e. A handbag and a cabin bag
  • A handbag is classed as one item or a laptop
  • Any small bags should be placed inside hand baggage
  • Max weight 10kg
  • Dimensions, 55,40,20 cm
  • Oversized hand luggage will be refused at the boarding gate and subject to a hold baggage fee of £50
What is the Checked / hold baggage allowance with Ryanair?

Ryanair’s policy is currently that each passenger is permitted to check-in up to 2 bags. On making your initial booking you can purchase a checked baggage weight allowance of 15Kg or 20Kg. After a booking is made you can still purchase checked baggage via ‘manage my booking’ online at a discounted price. Alternatively you can count on Check-in pal to add baggage to your existing booking at the same discounted rate subject to an additional small booking fee starting from just £1.99 when combined with our airline check-in service or £3.99 per bag one way if using just our add baggage option. This facility is available up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure time.

How much is excess baggage with Ryanair?

Ryanair currently charges a huge £20 per kg each way for excess weight. If you think you may go over your baggage allowance, it may be cheaper to add an additional bag. Let Check-in Pal amend your booking and add a bag for only £3.99 per bag one way plus Ryanair’s standard baggage fee.

Can I add sports equipment, musical instruments or infant equipment? How much does it cost?
  • A maximum of 20kg of sports equipment can be added.
  • A bike may be added with a maximum weight of 30kg.
  • A maximum of 20kg of musical instruments and equipment can be added.
  • Car booster seats are charged at £10 if purchased online, or £20 at the airport.

This is currently charged by Ryanair at £50 online or £60 at their call centre or at the airport. You can add sports equipment, musical instruments or infant equipment using Check-in Pal for a fee of £3.99 (plus Ryanair’s standard fee), per bag each way, either online or via Check-in Pal’s free call back service. This way you can avoid being charged the inflated price at the airport.

What is my cabin baggage allowance?

Ryanair’s current cabin baggage policy allows strictly two items per passenger (excluding infants). This can weigh up to 10kg and must be no larger than 55cmx40cmx20cm. Overweight cabin baggage will be charged at an additional £20 per kg; oversized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate and you will be made to pay an additional £30 for the bag to be put in the hold luggage. To avoid these additional costs, let Check-in Pal add extra baggage before you fly! Collapsible pushchairs may be taken as hold luggage free of charge, but may only be carried if there is an infant in the booking. Car booster seats and travel cots may only be carried on the aircraft as hold luggage and are charged at £10 per item online, or £20 per item at the airport. Infant equipment may weigh a maximum of 20kg per infant, and any additional weight will be subject to additional baggage charges. If you are unable to make this arrangement, let Check-in Pal add infant equipment to your booking, for a small charge, to avoid inflated costs at the airport. Mobility equipment can be carried free of charge. Sports equipment and bikes can be carried as hold luggage, a maximum of 20kg is allowed for sports equipment and 30kg for bikes. This is charged at £50 online with Ryanair, or £60 at the airport. If you are unable to add sports equipment to your booking, let Check-in Pal do it for you for less than the inflated airport charge.

What is priority boarding?

Priority boarding allows you to board the aircraft before all other passengers and pick any seat onboard. This is charged at £7pp online with Ryanair, or purchased at the airport or via Ryanair’s reservation line for £10pp. Alternatively Check-in Pal can arrange this service for Ryanair’s £7 plus a small service charge from 99p pp each way.

What is reserved seating?

Reserved seating allows passengers to pre-book allocated seats online or via Ryanair’s reservation line. This option allows passengers to pre-select seating to ensure that they are sat together as currently Ryanairs seating is a first come-first seated policy. A charge of £10 pp online with Ryanair, or £15pp at the airport or via Ryanair’s reservation line applies. Alternatively Check-in Pal can arrange this service from 99pp each way plus Ryanair’s charge of £10pp each way.

How does Check-in Pal work?

The answer is simple, you tell us your travel dates in advance, we check you in with your airline whilst you are away or if you unable to do it yourself. This eliminates the need for you to search endlessly for an Internet café or printing facility and prevents you worrying about how you are going to check in if you are away for a long period of time and are unable to check in for your return flight. Perhaps you have a relative travelling, and you are concerned about their ability to check in. When can I expect a call back from Check-in Pal?

Our normal operating hours are Mon-Fri 9am-6pm GMT, and Sat-Sun 10am-6pm GMT. You will receive a call back during our standard operating times once your Airline Check-in or amendment facility becomes available online. If you require Check-in Pal to check you in whilst you are overseas, please ensure that you provide a contact number that you can be reached on. Your call back request is placed in a priority queue determined by the date of your scheduled flight for the best possible service. If the Check in facility is available from the date we receive your request, we aim to call you back the same day, but this may not always be possible. However if you wish to guarantee a same day call back, a call back out of standard hours or an emergency service call back because your flight is in the next 12 hours, then simply select our emergency service, this operates 24hours a day, 7 days a week (additional charges will be incurred for this service).
